We are absolutely delighted to announce that TouchPoint has been chosen as this year’s beneficiary of the annual Flagship Grant of £50,000 from the Stansted Airport Community Fund!
For a community charity that is still so young we see this as fantastic recognition of the hard work of our growing army of volunteers. TouchPoint now directly impacts more than 2,000 people a week in our area through our Foodshares, free fitness and wellbeing sessions, Community Café, community cooking projects, free kids tea times, free Sunday movie club, the Kids Xmas Appeal and a growing list of other projects and services.
Refurbishing the building next door to TouchPoint HQ, Crafton Green House, is an important step in giving us the capacity to do more. The Flagship Grant of £50,000 means that the Touchpoint team have now raised more than £120,000 towards bringing Crafton Green House back into public use.
We are very grateful to the airport for their support with this funding. On Friday we held an event attended by Stansted Airport MD, Gareth Powell and Saffron Walden MP, Kemi Badenoch, to celebrate this award. It was great to be joined by so many of our community on the day.
The building work will start in the coming weeks and we look forward to keeping everyone updated!
