Are you interested in volunteering with us? We have a wide range of roles and opportunities – more than 150 people are part of our volunteering team! There is something to suit everyone, however much time you are able to commit.
To find out more, please email volunteer@thetouchpoint.org or call 07572 114882 with your contact details and we will get back to you. Here are some examples of our current opportunities (correct as of Thursday 13 February 2025):
Volunteer Community Food Share drivers in the Elsenham area
- Our volunteer drivers are vital to the community food share, collecting produce from local supermarkets for us to share. We need some extra help in the Elsenham area, specifically for collections on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday mornings – you would not be expected to do them all, this is a shared role. You need a full driving licence. You can use our van or your own vehicle if you prefer, and we reimburse fuel expenses.
Thursday lunchtime Community Café team
- The TouchPoint community wellbeing hub in Crafton Green in Stansted is a welcoming, sociable meeting place. Our community café serves hot drinks, homemade lunches and cakes every Thursday. We are looking for some extra pairs of hands! No experience is needed, but you will be a welcoming and friendly team player, happy to help out in all areas. This includes greeting visitors, waiting on tables, dishing-up, clearing and washing up, taking money and making future bookings. Volunteers work on a 2-4 hour shift basis between 9am and 3pm on Thursdays.
TouchPoint Community Food Share online rota support –
POSITION NOW FILLED
- Could you play an important role in our friendly volunteer team, helping to monitor our online community food share rota as part of a team of two? The very popular TouchPoint community food share helps to reduce food waste, with seven sessions every week run by our dedicated team of volunteers. We need some extra support to help it keep running smoothly. The role: You will take turns with one other volunteer to monitor the online food share rota. If there are gaps in the rota you will alert the food share volunteers via WhatsApp. You will also register new volunteers to the online rota and support them with instructions on how to use the system. Full training will be provided. Time commitment: You will share this role with one other volunteer, taking responsibility for it on alternate weeks. It takes about 10-15 mins every day, plus an hour or so per month to register and support new volunteers.
