A community hub
The aim of TouchPoint Stansted is to help connect people who need support with those that can offer it, in a friendly and welcoming place. Our community has so much to offer in terms of skills, knowledge and experience!
At the heart of our centre is the TouchPoint Community Café. It is a friendly and relaxing spot, open on Thursdays from 10am-5pm, and Fridays from 8.30am to 12pm.
We host regular sessions with partner organisations including those able to advise on debt management and budgeting, access to employment and developing digital skills. We are delighted that other community support, interest and hobby groups will also be able to continue using the centre as a base. Keep checking back for updates and follow us on Facebook for the latest news!
We are also lucky to have a wonderful community garden, cared for entirely by volunteers. It’s a tranquil spot perfect to relax and unwind in and is open to all to enjoy. If you are interested in getting involved in the care and maintenance of the garden, whether you are an expert or a complete novice, get in touch!
Since the beginning of 2023, TouchPoint has provided various regular health and wellbeing activities and support to refugees and asylum seekers who are residing in the Stansted area.

Keith
I have spent most of my working life in large accountancy firms, and now run my own specialised tax consulting business. I’m very pleased to be part of TouchPoint to provide commercial and strategic experience, in particular because I’ve often seen how relatively small changes can make big differences – in this case developing and connecting facilities and services with people who can derive great value from them. We’ve lived and brought up our family in Stansted for some 25 years and believe implicitly that strong communities are good for everyone. That, at heart, is what TouchPoint is designed to achieve.

Elissa
I am excited to be a part of TouchPoint as I grew up in Stansted and love the community that surrounded me. For me, TouchPoint is a great opportunity to give back to this community and help support it. I look forward to continuing to be a part of TouchPoint’s journey and experiencing the love and positivity of our community.

Fiona
I have lived in Stansted for the last eight years and feel very fortunate to be bringing my children up in such a beautiful and vibrant village. Most of my career has been spent working in the Charity sector running local services and working with volunteers so I am excited to be working with Touchpoint to help further support the local community. Touchpoint has had such a positive impact on Stansted and the surrounding community in so many ways, it is a privilege to be a part of that.

Paul
For most of my career I led a business focussed around employment, team building and mentoring. I have also been an active volunteer and trustee in the charitable sector supporting those who are dealing with issues such as unemployment, homelessness and hardship. Having lived in Stansted for over 20 years I’m a big believer in the strength of our community spirit. I see TouchPoint as a great opportunity to keep improving our shared experiences as a community and the support we offer each other.

Shirley
I have lived in Stansted for nearly 30 years and think it is a great community with lots to offer. My background is in pensions and compliance but now I am winding down on the work front, I am very excited to be a part of Touchpoint. I think Touchpoint will bring a positive offering of support in these difficult times and in the future.

Steph
I spent a considerable part of my career living and working in the Greater Horn of Africa. I was involved with managing short-term emergency humanitarian interventions as well as long-term community development work. I returned to the UK and was kept busy with my family and worked locally. For several years I volunteered with Citizen Advice, and I became the Coordinator for Uttlesford Foodbank in early 2020. I joined TouchPoint in November 2022, helpling to coordinate projects, before becoming Operational Director in late 2024.

Richard
Having lived in Stansted for over 20 years, where we have raised our four children, I’m delighted to be working with TouchPoint to give something back to our community. I have worked as a commercial property advisor for many years and at the same time have been actively involved in charitable initiatives, primarily through the Baptist Church in Bishop’s Stortford. Having seen what TouchPoint are doing in Stansted and the surrounding area, I was pleased to join a committed and passionate team to see how we can further serve our community.
